How to have a perfect marriage with your present mate
This marriage advice book feels more like marriage memoir than straight up marriage advice. Lair talks openly about his addictions, cheating on his spouse, and resulting spiritual awakening after a heart attack in his mid 30s. His self-help philosophy is grounded in 12 step programs. Lair says he was born a Baptist, but his program is more spiritual than religious. The self-reflection and recognition of himself as a “self-centered baby” was the first step on his journey out of addiction. His story is pretty interesting, and different from similar advice-type books.
One could make a case for hanging on to this book as a type of memoir, but as advice books go, it feels dated.
