Knitting with Balls: A Hands-On Guide to Knitting for the Modern Man
del Vecchio
2006

Submitter: Found this on our shelves last year.  We still have three active copies and one was even checked out in 2016!  LOL!

Holly: This book isn’t awful at all – it’s awesome! I’m posting it because it’s funny. My library totally needs this, and it would probably circulate here. I can see how it’s not for every library, but I think our crafting patrons have a sense of humor that can handle the title. Love it. Submitter didn’t provide pictures of the insides of the book, so I can’t vouch for it’s usefulness, but I do like the idea.

Man Colors

The color craze was hardly my thing (I could never tell the difference between good color or bad color) I do remember you could hire yourself a color consultant to look at your clothes and tell you what to wear. After looking at this book, I still can’t really tell the difference. Perhaps I am not that sophisticated or I don’t see that well.

For the 80s, this was probably a good purchase. However, I don’t think anyone is really talking about colors like they were then. The fashion is outdated now, but if it still works in your world, by all means, color away. 80s hair is totally optional.

Gender Based Collectables

Antiques for Men coverAntiques for Men

Real men need to make sure they are collecting the “right” kind of collectable. Ladies, hands off the toy soldiers.

This old book on antiques and collectables is pretty outdated and I can’t imagine someone thinking this would be a helpful book. If it is description and identifiers than I think these books would work, however if it is a price and value guide, not so helpful. Of course your library’s mileage may differ. I personally was fascinated by ashtrays with faces. Maybe I was more fascinated by who might consider collecting ashtrays with faces. I will need to think on this.
